Clearly [livejournal.com profile] orbitaldiamonds and I are on the same wavelength--at least books-wise. :P

The main part of her website is a library of quotes from books she's read. And apparently there are more (a good chunk of them Star Trek) that she hasn't even typed up yet.

Get to it, woman! ;)

I just finished reading Lightwing by Tara K. Harper, and I'm in a book funk now. I want to read something that's as spaceships-and-aliens-in-the-future sci-fi as Lightwing was.

*sigh*

What happened to all the Star Trek books?! There isn't even a whole shelf's worth anymore. And why is the Star Wars section expanding?

MOAR TREK PLZ.

LOOOOOONG books, but it's because there's just that much story! I highly recommend it.

NOW what do I read? :(

From page 73:

And so the passing strollers in St James's Park are transformed unwittingly into sirens, and each glowing boy becomes suggestive of its social shadow, the prostitute. And to a blind little penis, swaddled in trousers, there is no difference between a whore and a lady, except that the whore is available, with no angry champions to deal with, no law on her side, no witnesses, no complaints. Therefore, when William Rackham finds himself possessed of an erection, his immediate impulse is to take it directly to the nearest whore.

Not that I approve of the implications here, but men are so refreshingly simple at times. :P
